Entrance to the Prince GeorgeThere are many examples worldwide to programmes that prevent homelessness and provide for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

One example is the Prince George, once the most fashionable hotel in Manhattan, New York. When it closed, it fell into disrepair. It was totally renovated, back to its former glory, in 1999, and re-opened to provide accommodation for 416 people, half of them formerly homeless, and half of them working, but on low incomes. All rooms are self-contained and en-suite. Tenants pay a differential rent related to their income. Check out this article about it.
