Young Social Innovators

The Young Social Innovators’ aim is to raise social awareness among 15-18 year olds in Ireland by providing social awareness education through action and platforms for young people and educators. To become a young social innovator, you need to do a YSI project. That means you get together with others, pick an issue that is important to you and take action to make things better.

YMCA Ireland

The YMCA is a non-denominational Christian youth movement whose services and programmes are open to people of all faiths and of none. YMCA is a voluntary organisation that works with children, young people, families and the community, with particular regard to those who are disadvantaged and disaffected.·There are a wide range of programmes on offer which focus on outdoor education, vocational training, youth information, health education, homelessness, global youth work, faith development, peace and reconciliation and family youth work.

Foróige

The purpose of Foróige is to enable young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and in the development of society.·This purpose challenges and supports young people to involve themselves in:

ECO-UNESCO

ECO-UNESCO is Ireland's environmental education and youth organisation.Through the provision of a wide range of environmental education and training programmes, services and resources, ECO-UNESCO develops and channels the passion that young people feel about the environment into positive and creative actions to protect the natural world.
ECO-UNESCO’s aims are:

  • Raise awareness, understanding and knowledge of our environment among young people
  • Promote the protection and conservation of our environment among young people
  • Promote the personal development of young people through practical environmental projects and activities·

European Youth Forum

·The European Youth Forum is an independent, democratic, youth-led platform, representing national youth councils and international youth organisations from across Europe. The Youth Forum works to empower young people to participate actively in society to improve their own lives, by representing and advocating their needs and interests and those of their organisations. It aims to be the voice of young people in Europe, where young people are equal citizens and are encouraged and supported to achieve their fullest potential as global citizens.·Representation, internal democracy, independence, openness and inclusion are among the main principles for the functioning of the European Youth Forum and its Member Organisations.

Youth Justice in Action

Youth Justice in Action is a Campaign of Y Care International which brings it together with its international partners to campaign on youth justice issues.·Youth Justice in Action seeks to improve the lives and support the rights of young people in conflict with the lawThrough the campaign, they help to give people around the world the skills and confidence to get involved and help to improve things.
